On saturday we went to Sioux City to Davis' army base for a farewell ceremony. It was immediate family only, no media. A few different commanders and sgt spoke thanking the men for there hard work and let the families know they were in good hands. Davis is now overseas and we ask for everyones prayer and support that he may be safe and come home soon. His 6 months starts when he gets to his destination overseas.
I am kind of going backwards with my days here but, oh well. Friday night TJ and I were punch pourers in a friends wedding. Tyler Boone and Alisa Van Holland both from Sioux Center. It was a small wedding, TJ said he counted 116 chairs and they were basically all filled. They had it in the upper floor of the old courthouse here in Sioux Falls so it was a short trip for us. There is a picture below of us all dressed up for it. Notice I chopped my hair:) A good 5 inches I think. Just needed something different. Thanks to my Sister in law Ashley for the new due.
I have not added any pics of the house because since the last blog nothing unfortunately has been done due to all of the rain we have been getting :( All that water in the basement has disappeared but of course has been soaked into the ground preventing complete dryness. Because of the ground and underlying dirt being so wet yet the plumbers have not been able to do the underground plumbing and that is holding up the concrete guys from being able to pour the basement. "Ugh!" God has sure been teaching us patience with all the rain we have been getting. Our builder assure us though that despite the weather we will get back on track even if it means framing the house/roof and then laying the basement. Please pray for sunshine!! I know all you campers would like it too:)
Happy 1 Year Anniversary!
Not to shabby for cake baking rookies. The artist who did the border, half of the word "happy" and wrote "TJ" is of course none other than TJ himself. He also came up with the idea to put a #1 on the cake:) And I did the other writing.
